Who is Dave Hawkins

I'm an engineer in Denver, CO that's been writing, arranging, producing, and mixing out-of-the-mainstream, eclectic music for 20+ years.

 

As a producer, I can help bring your track to the next level. Whether it's designing bespoke sounds, honing drum tones, arranging strings/horns, sprinkling in ear candy, and even coaching on vocal performance.

As an engineer, I work in Logic Pro from my home studio where I have professional monitoring speakers, headphones, and microphones. I mix and produce for other artists, as well as myself, and deliver high quality mixes to you for mastering and distribution. I also offer vocal sessions in my home studio, where we will get you a perfect take (and probably record some other good ideas as well)

As a musician, I'm a classically trained pianist, and play and record several other instruments (Guitars, Synths, Ukelele, Melodica, Trumpet, etc) And as a singer myself, I'm happy to help with recording, writing harmonies, and more.

What you can expect

I'll be as hands-on with your track as you'd like. We will communicate about this early! Generally if I believe the song will benefit in some some way from additive or subtractive arranging and production, I will recommend and implement these changes for your review. (For example, if your second verse is just begging for a string arrangement, we're going to try it. If I think the track's energy will be better served with a slightly different drum arrangement, I'm going to let you hear it.)

We will be in regular communication (primarily over e-mail). I will send you mixes throughout the process to check in, review the work, and most importantly, make sure I'm "on track" with your artistic vision!

Rates

Single Mix + Production - $200

I will deliver you a professional quality mix of your song, with additional production as discussed. I will edit, and can tune all vocal tracks. No revision limit. Don't like what you hear? You don't have to give me a penny.

Album Mix - Inquire

Sometimes a whole album mix can result in a lower "per track" rate, depending on how it was recorded, how many audio tracks you have, etc. Let's chat!
